SYNOPSIS

Massimiliano Arif Ay is a very reserved forty-year-old, who was born in Bellinzona to a Turkish father and a Swiss mother. For the past ten years he has been the general secretary of the Communist Party in Switzerland, with a seat on the Grand Council. We are close to the elections in the Canton Ticino and it is his political passion that leads us to discover how an almost perfect system in absorbing the great political, financial and social changes in Europe, coexists with the uneliminable needs of economic, cultural and social hardship also present in Switzerland. Narration draws precisely on the idealistic thrust of Max and his young collaborators, and Max becomes not only a point of reference, but also an idea of the future.

And if in Eden God thundered: “Nobody touches Cain”, perhaps coming out of the small Swiss Eden I could say “Don’t touch this Marx” because if the ideology
